Ready, set, go?

Finally my first blog post!!

Training for the London Marathon last year was an amazing journey full of real blood, sweat and tears. I had 5 months to get from a coach potato to a marathon runner and it was not always easy by any means! I took a lot of comfort in hearing other runners stories and getting advice from those who remember their first marathon journey and what mistakes they made.

I hope runners find this blog a good read and an honest look at the lifestyle of someone who commits 5 months of a year to train for one event. While this sounds bizarre I actually enjoy running!! Dont get me wrong theres times when I think as a 22 year old I could take up a more glamorous hobby but I find a little hilarity in the knowledge that when I hit the 18 mile mark on my Sunday runs I tend to sing to the cows wearing a fanny pack… and that seems normal after 10 energy gels.

Although I have run a marathon I am still learning so much about running, so I’m confident I will have a lot of things to share with you all throughout my training. I hope my running friends take a little bit of positivity and motivation from my stories of epic fails and public embarrassments. Aside from the running though I hope to fill my blog with recipe’s I recommend, fundraising events, top tips and lots of training stories (which i’m sure my family will agree they found hilarious last year… sigh).

If you want to follow my journey I would be so grateful, after all cows dont have the internet… if you’re just passing through and have taken a bit of inspiration from my story then please check out my fundraising tab for a link to my JustGiving page, donating just £1 means a lot to Beating Bowel Cancer, so thank you.
